Challenge 4: The Speech You Would Give

This week, I challenge you to create a post consisting of the speech about public education you would make – if you were going to make a speech, that is.  You will use ethos, pathos, and logos, as well as the other rhetorical devices we’ve been talking about as part of our study of Animal Farm, to make this speech a solid, and well-written argument.

  1. Create a new blog post for the speech of your topic.
  2. Following the basic structure of a speech, write a four paragraph essay on an injustice in education.
  3. Be sure to address possible counterclaims with a good rebuttal.

Additional Challenges

  • Use in-text parenthetical citations to cite external sources that support your stance.
  • Provide links within the text (like I did for #3 up above) to the sources that support your thesis or provide more information about your claim.
